What is Moral Orel?

Created by Adult Swim alumnus and comedian Dino Stamatopoulos, Moral Orel is a TV-MA rated claymation series on Cartoon Network's [adult swim] that is focused around the life and times of the town of Moralton in Statesota, USA, and its most devout Christian Orel Puppington.

Moralton? Orel Puppington?

In a world drenched in cynicism, Orel is a young boy who consistently fails in his attempts to understand and abide by the Protestant Christian values esposed by those around him, even as many of the residents of Moralton do so themselves. Orel takes his cues from the authority figures around him; his parents Clay and Bloberta, school coach Stopframe, Reverend Putty, and more.

As the New York times describes the show:

"In the hypocritically devout world of “Moral Orel,” everyone botches the Bible, from Miss Censordall, the book-burning librarian, to protestors at a diner who carry signs reading “God Hates Fats.” "

Christian Values? Propoganda?

Fans of Moral Orel see this claymation cartoon as less of an attack on Christian values and more of a comment on hypocrisy.
