About the Site

Linkage: Humor

8-bit Theater-- The home of a genuinely funny sprite-based web-comic that is a loose retelling of the adventuring part in the first NES Final Fantasy, but also amusing side-jaunts into rpg and video game parody.

Amazing Jonathan's Cheap Thrills-- Part stand-up comedian, part gonzo magician, all entertainer. The site features everything you could possibly want to know about his career, along with things like prank lists, his own rants, and bits of his comedy act. He even designs, updates and hand-codes the site himself.

The Comics Curmudgeon-- Josh's daily snarking and humorous takes on the daily newspaper comics page. Like they say "Josh reads them so you don't have to".

Dragon Tails-- I don't know how I could have missed out on this comic for so long. ^_^; A DAILY full-color illustrated web comic strip following the zany misadventures of a bunch of young dragons and their put-upon mentor and caretaker, Enigma. This site always makes me smile, every day. Currently on hiatus.

Mark Fiore Online-- Biting animated satire every week from political cartoonist Mark Fiore, and winner of the 2002 Award

Minimum Security-- The Web archive of Stephanie McMillan's political cartoons.

Newgrounds-- If you ask me, the REAL reason to visit is The Portal, and see some the BEST (and worst) user-submitted Flash content and animated shorts on the 'net.

Penny Arcade-- If you're a gamer, a geek, or a gaming geek, you will make this web comic your new habit three times a week.

Solid Sharkey-- Run by Scott Sharkey (yes, that IS his last name), this site features some of the funniest bits of random ramblings on video games, crappy books, and nearly everything in-between. Currently home to the most inventively crafted sprite comic I've ever seen (GASP! He didn't just regurgitate sprites from a copy of ZSNES and MSPAINT!).

Something Awful-- While the daily humor essay/updates can be a bit of a crapshoot as far as humor value goes, Photoshop Phriday and Cranky Steve's reviews of the Internet's most eyeball-searingly bad first person shooter PC designed levels are with the visit alone.

This Modern World-- Weblog and content hub for the nationally-syndicated, unabashedly opinionated, left-of-center humorist Dan Perkins, aka Tom Tomorrow aka My Frickin' Hero. Comics updated weekly, Weblog updated several times a week.

Websnark-- Eric Burns' commentary site largely devoted to informal analysis of webcomics. If you like web-comics at all, you'll make this a daily visit.

John Pollak's X Overboard-- Don't worry about trying to pronounce the name; feast your eyes upon the political commentary and comics of August J. Pollak instead. In addition to a regularly-updated weblog, the site has an archive of nearly every comic he's done for the student paper at NYU. He showcases a new comic every Wednesday.
